A new report is available from the Danish Technical University, DTU, providing an overview and status on healthcare technology in Denmark. The report, made in collaboration with Medicoindustrien, IT-branchen and the Confederation of Danish Industries, shows that currently the investments in development, testing and the implementation of new health technology have not yet fulfilled expectations – both for users at hospitals and nursing homes (patients and healthcare staff), or for the companies and universities. So it seems there is a clear need to do more – and to do it differently in order to fully realize the potential of health technology.
The report provides 6 recommendations for moving the field forward; among others to focus on larger, strategic initiatives instead of many smaller projects and to strengthen the ecosystem and collaboration between the public and private sector.
